Applications for the Workplace Charging Scheme are open now. This scheme offers a fantastic opportunity for schools and education establishments to support the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) by providing financial assistance towards the purchase, installation, and infrastructure of electric vehicle charge points.

Here's what you need to know:

What is the Workplace Charging Scheme?

The Workplace Charging Scheme is a grant initiative aimed at supporting the adoption of electric vehicles by enabling the installation of EV charge points in workplace settings. State-funded schools and education institutions are eligible to participate in this scheme, allowing them to install electric vehicle charge point sockets at their site(s).

To check if your school is eligible you can access the Government’s criteria for the scheme here: https://www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk/grants/workplace-charging-scheme-for-state-funded-education-institutions-1

Key Benefits:

Financial Assistance: The scheme offers a substantial grant covering 75% of the costs associated with purchasing and installing charge points.

Maximum Funding: Schools can receive up to £2,500 per socket, with a cap of 40 sockets across all sites, including any previous applications made via the Workplace Charging Scheme.

Sustainable Transportation: By investing in EV infrastructure, schools contribute to reducing carbon emissions and promoting eco-friendly transportation solutions.

How to Apply:

If your school matches the eligibility criteria you can begin your application process here: https://www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk/grants/workplace-charging-scheme-for-state-funded-education-institutions-1#summary

If your application is successful, the Government will issue you with a voucher that is valid for 180 days.
